Attendance:
It is very important that your child is in school every day, but also be on time! The doors open at 7:3am and close at 7:50 am. At that time, students must enter through the main door.
Absence:
If your child is absent from school for whatever reason, a note MUST come in with your child upon their return. Please include in this note the date that your child was absent and the reason for the absence. If your child is absent for 3 or more consecutive a doctor’s note is needed
Book bags:
Please make sure that you check your child’s backpack every night! Backbacks should be labeled with your child’s first and last name–remember–NO WHEELS!
Birthdays:
A birthday is a special occasion! We will sing and celebrate your child’s special day. NO food items are allowed in classes. With numerous allergies and sensitivities, we want to ensure the safety of each student.
Class Participation:
Students are expected to: be attentive and respectful to school staff, show respect and concern for other students, and actively participate in class by responding orally or in writing as circumstances dictate.
Dismissal:
If your child is going home a different way other than normal, please send in a note with your child. If your child is to go home with someone other than normal, please send a note in with your child. Our main goal is to keep your child safe!
Illness:
The question of when to keep your child home from school is often a difficult one, especially when decisions must be made first thing in the morning. It is important, however, to keep your child home if he/she is ill. This helps to make them more comfortable and prevents others from becoming ill. Children function more effectively in the classroom when they are healthy.
Kindness:
Students in our classroom are encouraged and expected to treat all members of our class as well as others with kindness and respect. Bothering others, bullying, and interrupting learning will not be permitted.
Peanut Free Classroom:
Please make sure that you don’t pack anything with peanuts in it! Thanks.
Responsibility:
Your child MUST take responsibility for his/her own actions. This includes their behavior. This also applies to help. If your child needs help, please encourage them to ask for help. The only way that I know that they need help is to ask for it.
Snack:
We will have a snack time/recess every day. This should not replace breakfast. Please make sure that your child eats breakfast before coming to school. Snack food/drinks should be easy to open for your child.
Uniform:
It is imperative that your child comes to school dressed in their school uniform properly!
ZZZZZ:
Make sure that your child gets plenty of rest. Setting and keeping a bedtime is a wonderful gift you can give to your child. It will help them to be alert and ready to learn each day!
