Welcome! I'm Marissa Black, and I teach 7th/8th grade math and room 213 ELA. I earned my B.A. in journalism from Azusa Pacific University and my M.S. in education from St. Joseph's University. I am also TEFL certified and in my 6th year of teaching. I have tutored international students, worked as a camp counselor and mentor for high school girls, taught for 2 years at Mercy Wings Vocational Centre in Guyana, South America with the Mercy Volunteer Corps, lived on 4 continents, and coached high school volleyball! I am drawn to the diverse experiences and philosophies of education and its universal themes of empowerment and inclusion. On these pages, you can find information on our weekly work and policies.
